## Introduction

Kaori is a personal fragrance journal designed to help you track, discover, and record the scents in your life. This Privacy Policy explains what information Kaori collects, how we use and protect it, and the choices you have over your data.

By using Kaori, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

## Information We Collect

Fragrance Data: When you add a perfume, we store the brand, name, scent profile (top, heart, and base notes), concentration, purchase date, and any personal notes or memories you write. When you log usage, we record the date and time.
Photos & AI Recognition: Any photos you attach are stored locally or in your personal iCloud Drive. When you use the AI Scent Recognition feature, the selected photo is transmitted to a third-party AI service for ephemeral processing to identify perfume details. These photos are not stored on Kaori’s servers.
Profile Information: You may choose a display name and title for your Kaori Card. This data is stored locally on your device and can optionally be stored in your personal iCloud Drive (available for Kaori Pro subscribers).
Usage & Diagnostics: We collect anonymized, aggregated app usage data (e.g., which screens you visit, feature adoption) to improve Kaori. This data cannot identify you personally.
Device & Location: With your permission, Kaori uses your approximate location (city-level) to fetch weather data via Apple WeatherKit for fragrance recommendations. Location information is not stored permanently and is never shared with third parties.
Daily Notifications: If you enable daily reminders, Kaori stores a notification token locally to schedule them. We do not access or send notifications ourselves — this is handled entirely by Apple's notification infrastructure.

## How We Use Your Information

Your fragrance data is used exclusively to power Kaori's features:

Generate your personal Kaori Card and track your collection.
Provide daily fragrance recommendations based on weather.
